Shopping in Scarborough

Last Wednesday (2nd July) I decided to pop over to Scarborough to attempt some supermarket shopping for a few bits and bobs I can’t get locally.

First stop was the Morrisons on the outskirts of Scarborough, my first trip there (that I can remember) since Kungflu, and my first since I lost my shares in the company after they got bought out.

When I got there I was getting pretty crossed-eyed, so first spot I went was the toilets. No soap in the left-hand dispenser, and only a few dregs of foamy crap in the one on the right, and only cold water out the tap.

The store in Scarborough is quite big, so you can’t accuse it of lacking stock, however it’s so big you have a heck of a job figuring out where the hell anything is.

The sign I saw in the distance that said “Bakery” on it gave me a clue that might be a good spot to go looking for the bread on my list, and I managed to get a couple of sourdough things my Dad currently insists on using.

I looked up several aisles, but no luck finding the eggs, but I did spot an aisle with canned fish there since my Dad had been wanting sardines on toast.

There was plenty of canned Mackerel there, no much left in way of sardines, apart from some in weired stuff, and there was a bunch of stuff that looked like it belonged somewhere else shoved to the back of the shelf.

At this point I decided to knock it on the head, go to the Checkout and pop into Tesco on my way back home to try get some other stuff.

Before leaving I took the opportunity to do some mobile internet speed testing on my phone with the aid of the nPerf Speed Test app.

I found you could get 5G internet there using Tesco Mobile (O2), but still only 4G with Vodafone.

When I got to Tesco I had a much more successful trip, and the mobile internet speed testing produced the fastest download/upload speeds I’d ever seen.

Falling to bits skint Yorkshire bloke who likes knocking together websites in the hope I might make quite a few quid out of one of them some day.
