Bought Some More Domain Names

Once upon a time I ended up owning around 120 domain names after a wild stab at trying my hand at domain name investing around 2007/2008 after 1&1 UK (now “Ionos“) tag teamed with a company called SEDO.

In the intervening years after turning some of them into actual websites, or getting shot of them to save money I wittled them down to only having around 14 of the things.

Now I seem to have developed an urge to have another go at it, and picked up 6 of the things in the past month.

Might pick up a few more in the coming months if I see anything decent going cheap.

I picked up “StupidSillyStuff.com” + “StupidSillyStuff.co.uk” to go with the “Stupid Silly Stuff” facebook page I inherited that’s somehow grown to 10k followers.

I’ve bagged “FunnyCatVideos.co.uk” because “Funny Cat Videos” is apparently a cheap keyword with lots of traffic.

Also I now own “AstronomyNews.co.uk” because Estibot valued it at $1100 before I’d even let the moths out of my wallet.

Then I picked up “ConservativeNews.co.uk” that should also have good keyword traffic value.

Finally I picked up the UK variant of “PressReleaseWire” (pressreleasewire.co.uk) I’m thinking of turning into a press release outlet website when I’ve had time to make some room on my webspace (probably by axing the phpBB forums for my Locomotives.org.uk website since the damn thing only ever seems to get abused by Indian/Pakistani SEO farms trying to use it as an articles website to push assignment writing services to people too f***ing lazy to get their finger out of their f***ing arse and do their own bloody University coursework)

Two others I bought last year have been parked on SEDO after Ebay wouldn’t let me register an account for the business idea I bought the bloody things for in the first place.

Falling to bits skint Yorkshire bloke who likes knocking together websites in the hope I might make quite a few quid out of one of them some day.
