Shopping in Scarborough

Last Wednesday (2nd July) I decided to pop over to Scarborough to attempt some supermarket shopping for a few bits and bobs I can’t get locally.

First stop was the Morrisons on the outskirts of Scarborough, my first trip there (that I can remember) since Kungflu, and my first since I lost my shares in the company after they got bought out.

When I got there I was getting pretty crossed-eyed, so first spot I went was the toilets. No soap in the left-hand dispenser, and only a few dregs of foamy crap in the one on the right, and only cold water out the tap. Continue reading “Shopping in Scarborough”

Upgraded to a Better Mobile Phone Finally

After roughly 10yrs of trying, around this time last month I finally managed to successfully upgrade to a replacement for my trusty old iPhone 3GS smartphone.

It took just over a year of saving, but after 2-3yrs of looking longingly at it as an option, I finally upgraded to a refurbished iPhone 12 Mini in Black, with 128GB of onboard storage.

I’ve paired it with a TORRO phone case, made from genuine black leather rather than the fake PVC leather crap some of my previous cases have been made from that eventually start flaking like a chimney sweep with bad dandruff. Continue reading “Upgraded to a Better Mobile Phone Finally”

Stir-Fried Wrist

The last few weeks I have been trying to get back into cooking stir-fry, seeing as I was actually able to get my hands on most of the necessary ingredients.

Last Wednesday (24th July), a few days after web hosting had been restored, I was cooking stir-fry for that night’s dinner when once again I had a slight mishap doing it.

Throwing in a couple of handfuls of frozen ready-cooked diced chicken into a wok of hot oil, I managed to get some of the hot oil splashed on my wrist, resulting in a slight injury. Continue reading “Stir-Fried Wrist”

Gettr: Anti-cancel-culture My Arse

So called “free speech” network #GETTR is now banned from my estate of websites for false banning my personal account for “Violence/Harassment/Bullying” when all I do is copy & paste most of the same news stories to it I copy and paste to most of my other socials without really interacting with anyone.

Much like other fake anti-cancel-culture social network Minds.com

New Thicker Fleece Jacket

For christmas this year I decided to buy my Dad a new thicker fleece jacket since he’s always complaining about being cold (even when temperatures in the livingroom are pushing past 80°F and making me black out from dehydration and lack of breathable air after he’s over-compensated the central heating thermostat).

I eventually found an Island Trading Sherpa Fleece Lined Hoodie on Amazon UK for a good price, and got him the charcoal version.

I also bought the black version for myself since I recall liking hoodies, but don’t think I’ve had one that still fits since the 1980’s before my age reached double figures. Continue reading “New Thicker Fleece Jacket”

Trying To Create Content, Without Really Being Able To

I started this year kind of wanting to try a bit more to push forward with the content creator thing writing my blogs here and elsewhere, as well as try and get my YouTube channels back on track.

As with a lot of content creator types who mostly rely on going outside with a camera doing things to get their content, that has pretty much gone right down the s****er.

This has also had a knock-on effect on trying to cobble together blog posts on things that don’t require me to go outside to do things to be able to put together some content.

I kind of get ideas for things I could write when I’m away from where I can actually write things down, but then when I’m sat back down here where I can actually write them I’ve forgotten most of it. Or just as I’m about to try write something, I get called away to do other stuff.

I’m just really creating this post to try get out of the funk by writing any random s**t that comes out of my head to try get back in the habit of more frequently tinkering with my websites and social media. Continue reading “Trying To Create Content, Without Really Being Able To”

New Mouse Mat

So, my new replacement mouse mat arrived back on 28th April from Amazon UK.

I was originally aiming for an Amazon Basics gaming mouse mat, but that became unavailable a few days before I had the money available to put the order through, so i got a Kensington Memory Foam Mouse Mat instead, which at least brand matches the Kensington Keyboard wristrest I got before I later bought my leaky old Fellowes Gel Mouse Mat (thought I got it around same time, but looking back through my Amazon orders shows otherwise) Continue reading “New Mouse Mat”

My Mouse Mat Sprung a Leak!

By the start of 2016 I figured it was probably about time to invest in a new mousemat, as my original from 1999/2000 was starting to look a bit grotty + the rubber/neoprene stuff it was made of was starting to come to bits.

After poking around on a well known popular online mail order shopping emporium, I opted for the Fellowes Crystals Gel Mouse Mat with Wrist Support thing in black, and ordered it at the end of January.

It still appears to be available for around a tenner.

Earlier on this morning I was playing CS:GO (as I often do), and discovered it had developed a slight technical problem. Continue reading “My Mouse Mat Sprung a Leak!”

Surprisingly Clean Shoes

Getting back from town about half an hour ago, and as a sign of just how exciting my life is right now, I checked under my shoes on the way in, and I’m not sure how my Karrimor Walking Shoes are this clean underneath them considering the amount of mud and dog turds I had to dodge my way past to make it to town and back…..

Am I Leaving Blogspot?

It has been a while since I’ve posted on here, and a while since I’ve posted on there (until a few minutes ago).

I made my first steps blogging here on my own wordpress powered blog a long time ago under my other john-duck.co.uk domain name, then spent some time tinkering with other website and blog projects under brand names I had a crack at creating after some troll prick decided to be a pain in the arse on my personal accounts.

I dabbled a bit with my blogspot account in that time, but as I think I blogged on here some months ago, have decided to press this one back into service and switched it to my other personal domain name.

I’ve decided to try press on with this one seeing as the Adsense ads on the blogspot thing quit displaying months ago, and I have been working on the back-end of this and my other blogs the past few months.

I’ll probably use blogspot occasionally still if I need to write down blog ideas and this one has technical gremlins at some point.

I’m trying to think of ideas for an improved site banner / logo thing than the one currently in use:jduck1979 blogs
