By this Tuesday just gone (8th July), we we’re running short of stuff again, specifically butter and bread.
We were completely out of butter (regular + spreadable stuff), while the sourdough I’d gotten for my Dad from Morrison’s on that trip I posted about earlier: one from a brand called “Jason’s” had run out, while the Morrison’s in-house bakery thing had gone so hard you could probably use it to take out an Iranian nuclear facility if you dropped it from a high enough height (and I’d had difficulty getting a clean slice out of it, wasting most of it).
So it was off to Aldi and Sainsbury’s again.
On the way back I got stopped at the roadworks traffic lights on the New Bridge, and got thinking that maybe I should take a detour round to the West Cliff to try get some footage of the big Ferris Wheel thing.
By the time I reached the mini-roundabout at the end of Love Lane it started looking like I may be set to get some slightly more significant footage than just the wheel as I looked left towards Sandsend before pulling out.
I found a spot to pull over in North Terrace Car Park, near where the steps down to Whitby Spa Pavillion are.
To my right was the big wheel, to my left an eye popping sunset scene over a lightly misty Sandsend Bay.
Naturally I had to grab as much footage as I could on my iPhone 12 Mini…..
